Life is short

Today we received bad news from a friend of ours. His wife has got a stage 4 cancer and she is only 38. I am thinking how ignorant we are about our life span and not living to the fullest. We have to study hard for getting into a good university then have to look for a good job. When we have a job we work restlessly for a better lifestyle until we break down. It's a struggle. However, we should also enjoy life and appreciate each and every minute for being alive and well. Another thing is: we need tender, love and care to make our lives more meaningful. Either be a giver or a taker it is important that we have someone who cares about us or whom we are cared for. I should know better about how life can be so short. My father died at 29 and my mother, at 56. They were together for only 7 years. Who would have expected that they would be apart in such a short time? They might have quarrelled, cross with each other and not talking for days as a normal couple. Instead of sharing the precious moments, we tend to forget the fact that life is not eternal. May we love one another everyday.

Favourite quotations of Gandhi

Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent than the one derived from fear of punishment.

A man's true wealth hereafter is the good he has done to his fellowmen.

Man's upward progress means ever increasing difficulty, which is to be welcomed.

Human life is a series of compromises and it is not always easy to achieve in practice what one has found to be true in theory.

True nonviolence is mightier than the mightiest violence.

Walking along the coast

Walking along the coast; you will forget all your worries. I thank God for the fresh air, the blue sky and the clear water.

Walking along the coast; you will feel as if you are in heaven. I thank God for the beauty and amazing colours of various flowers and their sweet scent.

Walking along the coast; you will see God's great creation. I thank God for the open space and the endless paths to walk.

Walking along the coast...

Love letters

They are very powerful and therefore not very easy to write, at least for some people. I love reading love letters, especially the paper letters. There are letters written on a perfumed paper with perfumed ink and nicely sealed. It is very romantic for having to open such letters. Some famous love letters:

My dearest Emma,
All your letters are so entertaining, that they give me either the greatest pleasure or pain. It is the next best thing to being with you. Nelson's Alpha and Omega is Emma! My affection and love is beyond even this world. Nothing will shake it but yourself...
NELSON TO EMMA HAMILTON

I have not spent a day without loving you; I have not spent a day without embracing you; I have not so much as drunk one cup of tea without cursing the pride and ambition which force me to remain apart from the moving spirit of my life. My beloved Josephine stands alone in my heart...
NAPOLEON TO JOSEPHINE

I wanted to believe

As a fan of agent Scully and Moulder, I went to see the movie. I am not a fan of the X-files but I wanted to believe that they were real. I also felt the strong chemistry between Scully and Moulder. It was entertaining but not as scary as normal x-files series. They both look aged too but the attraction is still there.
